Angela graduated from Central Community College in 1996, obtained her BSDH in 2018 from the Community College of Denver, and received her MA in Organizational Leadership from Buena Vista University in 2022. As the founder of 360 Dental Navigations, Angela utilizes her expertise and experience to create unique content for dental presentations and published articles for the dental industry. In 2020, Angela was recognized as the Advocate of the Year for Omaha Dental Hygienists’ Association, as well as the Nebraska Dental Hygienists’ Association. Throughout her career, Angela has been involved in private practice and educational aspects in dentistry. Angela is a member of the ADHA, Colorado Dental Hygienists' Association, and is a Dental Entrepreneuer Woman (DEW) member.Angela enjoys spending time with her grown children, Kendyl, Kamryn, and Kaelyb, as well as her dogs, Lola and Lucy! Time in nature, hiking, kayaking, kickboxing, and simply reading a book on a patio are a few of her favorite hobbies.

In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly welcomes in Dr. Sam Shamardi!
Dr. Sam Shamardi earned his DMD at Tufts University and his Periodontal certificate at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery and practices full-time while teaching part-time at the Harvard Division of Periodontics.
Dr. Shamardi lectures nationally and internationally on topics within periodontics, hearing loss in dentistry, finance and more, and has published multiple articles. He is a member of the prestigious Catapult Education Speakers Bureau and is recognized as a dental entrepreneur for his revolutionary EarAid product. He is also the author of The Financial Survival Guide for Dentists, a book geared towards helping early career dental professionals establish a foundation in the business aspect of their careers. In his spare time enjoys traveling and supporting his favorite team Real Madrid.
In this conversation, Dr. Shamardi shares his story of how he got into dentistry, what he has learned from teaching at Harvard, some of the exciting new technologies he sees on the horizon in the industry, and you may be surprised that you'll also hear his insights on...hearing!

Victoria began her journey as a Dental Therapist at the Eastman Dental Hospital London in 2001, and has been totally dedicated to her profession since and completed her BSc in Oral Health Promotion with O’Hehir University in 2016, and has worked internationally as a speaker and clinically in the UK and UAE and currently teaches the NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education for dental nurses.
She is the Founder and former President of the Emirates Dental Hygienist Club and has been active within various organizations throughout her career. She currently is a board member for Teeth Cloud, a global dental informatics organization, and is a member of the Editorial Board for the BSDHT.
Victoria’s particular area of interest focusses on behavioural change and communication, and ways of promoting oral health through multiple channels, underpinned by consistent well-being. Victoria’s current funded research award, was reviewed by the Oral Health Research Trust (OHRT) a partner of NIHR, explores the impact of tele-health on oral health improvements.
Victoria founded the Smile Revolution, and Smile Revolution Growth Hub, driving innovations in oral health promotion and leadership through communities of dental professionals, measuring the ongoing impact.

Michelle Strange, MSDH, RDH, CDIPC has more than two decades of dental expertise, beginning as a dental assistant and completing a bachelor’s degree in health science from the Medical University of South Carolina and a master’s in dental hygiene education from the University of Bridgeport.
She continues to invest in ongoing education, gaining certifications such as her Certificate in Dental Infection Prevention and Control. Her community and global endeavors demonstrate her passion for dentistry, from volunteer work to worldwide missions. She is the owner of Level Up Infection Prevention, MichelleStrangeRDH, a practicing dental hygienists and was the cofounder of A Tale of Two Hygienists podcast.
Michelle shares his journey though dental hygiene and how she decided to focus on getting a certification in the niche of infection prevention and control. She shares insights she learned from "getting messy" along the way and in the process has been able others on their own journey through the dental profession.

Dr. Maragliano-Muniz was a dental hygienist before earning her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and her certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from UCLA School of Dentistry. She is a board-certified prosthodontist, the Chief Editor for Dental Economics. In addition, she is a Chief Development Officer for Cellerant Consulting Group, a faculty member at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and maintains a private practice in Salem, MA.
She lectures internationally and is extensively published. Her passion for prevention has stayed with her throughout her career and in 2010, Dr. Maragliano-Muniz was awarded the 2010 Adult Preventive Care Practice of the Year by the American Dental Association.
Dr. Maragliano-Muniz shares insights from her years of experience as a dentist and dental hygienist, highlighting how to create a thriving and harmonious practice while helping patients, overall health.

In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly Tanner is joined by Dr. Suzanne Ebert! Dr. Ebert built a successful dental practice from scratch. After selling her practice, she became the Dental Director of a Federally Qualified Health Center where she provided high quality care to underserved populations. She has since joined the American Dental Association’s Business Innovation Group as the ADA Advisor to provide real and tangible benefits to dentists as well as helping to address access to care issues across the country. She is currently VP of Operations and Customer Relations for ADA Practice Transitions.
In todays' conversation, Dr. Ebert conveys her experience from how she became drawn into dentistry to her role today helping others transition into and out of a successful practice while maintaining the clientele and ethics of the previous administration. Ashley Kear has been a hygienist for 17 years and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Dental Hygiene program. She works part time clinically and spends the rest of her time I work on her Etsy shop and other artistic endeavors. Ashley has been drawing for as long as she can remember and decided a few years ago - along with some coaxing from friends and family - to try to turn it into a business!
Ashley sells dental themed items and works with her partner, Julie who is a dental assistant and owns The Dental Gift Shop.

In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly is joined by Dr. Eser Tüfekçi!Dr. Tüfekçi is a native of Istanbul, Turkey, and received her dental degree from Istanbul University in 1989. Dr. Tüfekçi continued her career at the Ohio State University, earning her Master of Science and Ph. D. degrees. She then received her certificate in orthodontics in 2002 from the University of Minnesota.
She also holds a Master of Science in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she is currently a Professor in the Orthodontic Department. Dr. Tüfekçi is a Board Certified orthodontist and maintains an intramural practice in Richmond, VA.
Dr. Tüfekçi details her journey to dentistry from stemming an early childhood interest in the game "Operation" all the way through to her life as an orthodontist today. Along the way, she imparts plenty of wisdom from from her professional experience along to Dental Handoff listeners.

Whitney is a dental hygienist who is known as the "Teeth Talk Girl" on social media. Whitney’s social media journey of spreading dental health awareness began on the YouTube platform — where she started creating toothy videos for the general public. Now with two audiences (the general public and dental professionals), she creates two videos each week on YouTube, in addition to sharing educational content on her website (teethtalkgirl.com).Her newest endeavor has been her "Happy Teeth" company, which includes purses, bags, and accessories for healthcare professionals. Whitney’s favorite part about “Happy Teeth” is that for every item purchased – a dental health kit is donated to someone in need.While still working part-time as a clinical dental hygienist, Whitney lives, breathes, and dreams about teeth and is always excited to “talk teeth” :)

They discuss the importance of early screening for HPV and oral cancers and how Susan developed the "Cotten Method" to help do just that for her patients! Known for her expertise on HPV, oral cancer, and head and neck evaluation, she developed the "Cotten Method", a dental practice operating system and screening method designed to increase confidence in screening, aid in reducing the risk of liability, and increase early detection. Susan is a consultant and Dental Workgroup Lead for the Alliance for HPV Free Colorado, a director for Dental Codeology Consortium, a Regional Coordinator and RDH Advisory board member for the Oral Cancer Foundation, and a 2018 Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction recipient. Susan is a 2020 recipient of the Ethyl Covington award and 2018 Outstanding Contribution award, both from the Colorado Dental Hygienists' Association. She has organized countless free screening events, including screenings at the Denver Broncos Health and Wellness Expo.

Her experience as a clinical dental hygienist and ergonomics expert has allowed her to recognize the unique challenges of practicing pain-free in the dental setting.
