In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly Tanner welcomes in the great Dr. Adamo Notarantonio!
Dr. Adamo Notarantonio is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine (2002), where he received honors in both removable and fixed prosthodontics. He completed his residency in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Stony Brook in 2003, and was chosen by faculty to complete a second year as Chief Resident.
Dr. Adamo was accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (“AACD”) in 2011, and recently received his Fellowship in the AACD. He is the only Accredited Fellow in New York State, and the 80th person worldwide to achieve this honor. He was further honored by the Academy when asked to serve as President of the AACD, and also consultant and examiner for the Accreditation and Fellowship processes.
Dr. Adamo is a graduate of the Kois Center, where he studied under Dr. John Kois. He also has completed The Dawson Academy Core Curriculum. Dr. Adamo has received his fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has been published in multiple dental journals and lectures nationally and internationally on such topics as CAD/CAM dentistry, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, composite dentistry and dental photography.
Dr. Adamo also volunteers his time at the NYU College of Dentistry where he is a Clinical Instructor in the Honors Aesthetics Program.In July, Dr Adamo was invited to join the faculty at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. It is a high honor, as he is only the 6th faculty member to be selected since the Center opened in 1994. As a result, he will be in Seattle for numerous weeks in 2024.
Dr. Adamo is an avid golfer and is also fluent in Italian.

In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly Tanner makes the dental handoff to Dr. Tanya Sue Maestas!
Dr. Tanya Sue Maestas was born and raised in El Paso, TX. She attended dental school at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. She graduated in 2018 and completed an AEGD residency in 2019. During dental school, she became involved in organized dentistry and served in various leadership roles including President of the American Student Dental Association.
After graduating, she returned to El Paso and practices outside of the city at La Clinica de Familia (FQHC) where she serves as a Dental Director for the site. She also serves as a part-time faculty member at the Woody L Hunt School of Dental Medicine. She was recently named the Texas New Dentist of the Year. She has continued her involvement in organized dentistry by serving in numerous roles with organizations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Hispanic Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and the El Paso District Dental Society. She is an alumnus of the American Dental Association Institute for Diversity in Leadership and was recognized as one of the American Dental Association 10 under 10 recipients & one of Incisal Edge 40 under 40 dentists.
Dr. Maestas is passionate in providing care to underserved communities and seeks to help close the gap in barriers to care. She strives to promote diversity within dentistry and seek to ensure inclusion at all levels of the profession, and she dives into all of these areas with Dr. Kelly in this week's episode!

In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly kicks off the new year with a loud bang in the form of the returning Emil & Dariel Liakhovetski!
Beyond achieving musical stardom, Emil and Dariel have their bows (and handpieces) locked on a bright career in dentistry. From a young age, brothers Emil and Dariel have been making a name for themselves around the world as bold, creative young artists, forever changing how people view the classical cello.
The electrifying duo has shared the stage with Ricky Martin, Loverboy, Kelli Pickler, Robin Thicke, 2Cellos, Apocalyptica, and Will.i.am. The brothers come from a legacy of dental excellence; starting with their paternal grandfather who started the family trade as an oral surgeon in Ukraine, passing it down to their father, who is currently practicing in South Florida.
In dental school, Emil discovered his passion for surgery and is currently in Periodontology residency at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, while Dariel found his passion in restorative dentistry, and will be applying to Prosthodontic residency programs following graduation from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. Both brothers have a particular interest in implant dentistry, are currently involved in dental implant research, have founded clubs dedicated to implanvology, and have been awarded distinctions in implant dentistry. Their area, is to work as a team and build on the legacy of their father in the way of a patient-centered clinic.

In this week's Dental Handoff, Dr. Kelly hands off to Janice Correa!
Originally from Mid-Hudson Valley, NY, Janice Correa transferred to the VA Dental, resided for three years and re-married in Green Bay WI. They moved 3 yrs ago to Central Florida, closer to family. She is a Certified Dental Assistant for over 40 yrs., a Supervisory DA, an office Mgr and DA Educator. She is currently a Marketing Manager in saliva screening device sales.
The highlight of Janice's career was employment for the Fed Gov't VA and Army dental units. She worked in the Army Operating Room assisting for Jaw Surgeries and other OMS procedures. She's a new podcaster sharing the topic on work ethics. She is a grandma of three with one more on the way. Her passion for work extends beyond dentistry which has led me to immeasurable learning opportunities.
She's a social media community leader posting daily content for Facebook Grp-Dental Club Network-Tampa-St Pete. For the VA, a few adjunct positions were EEO Hispanic Counselor, then EEO Chairperson, EEO Sexual Harassment Counselor. For the Army, Army-Process Improvement Coordinator (Army Lean Six Sigma), Hospital Patient Safety Coordinator/Trainer, and Army Civilian Advisory Board Member.
She enjoys visiting dental office teaching on the values of salivary screening to focus on prevention and oral systemic wellness.

Dr. Clark has won several teaching awards, has provided over 150 continuing education courses, and has authored more than 50 publications and book chapters.
